Jagadguru Adi Shankaracharya
(788 AD – 820 AD)
๐He was born in a place called Kaladi in the state of Kerala.
๐He took up Sanyas at a young age and travelled across India to protect Indian culture.
๐He was the proponent of 'Advaita Vedanta' philosophy, whose main principle is 'Aham Brahmasmi'.
๐Established four monasteries in the four corners of India, Jyotirmath, Sringeri Sharada Peetha, Govardhan Matha, Dwarka Sharada Peetha.
๐The texts written by him like 'Bhaja Govindam' and 'Nirvana Shatkam' present a wonderful picture of devotion and knowledge.
๐He wrote his detailed explanations and commentaries on the Upanishads, Srimad Bhagavad Gita and Brahmasutra.
๐Through debate, scholars were made aware of the true nature of religion.
